Building Mailroom Refresh

Project Overview

V21 Construction refreshed a shared mailroom where residents approach mailbox banks on both sides of a central aisle. Light, rectangular floor tile runs the length of the room. Warm wood-look finishes wrap the bases and ends of the mailbox banks and continue onto the accent wall beyond them, giving the room a consistent finish from the entry to the far end.

Analysis

The room is organized around fixed mailbox banks and a clear passage between them. The finish details matter at several heights: the tile defines the walkway, the wood-look surrounds give the mailbox bases a finished edge, and the light upper walls keep the gray metal boxes from visually closing in the aisle.

Outcome

The wide view shows the tile continuing between the mailbox banks toward the adjoining hallway. The close view shows how the dark ledge caps the wood-look base and ties the gray boxes into the warmer finishes around them. Repeating the same finish at each bank gives both sides of the mailroom a consistent appearance.
